At the Truman Kimbro Center during the Meet the Candidate Forum, candidates for Precinct 1 Constable, Precinct 1 Commissioner, and State Representative for Texas House District 12 introduced themselves to residents of Madison County on Thursday, Jan. 25, for the upcoming election.

Last week, an active El Niño weather pattern brought heavy rains to the region. The downpour began o Tuesday, Jan. 23, and continued through Wednesday, Jan. 24, which led to substantial flooding and road closures across the county.

KURTEN — A fire erupted at Feather Crest Farms in the rural area of northeast Brazos County Monday evening, challenging multiple fire departments with its intensity. The Madisonville Volunteer Fire Department and the North Zulch Fire Department provided mutual assistance at the chicken-processing plant.

Madisonville Girl Scout Troop no. 9504 donated 18 duffle bags stuffed with dental hygiene items, combs/brushes, soap, deodorant, etc., activity books, journals, crayons, markers, blanket and stuffed animals to the Madison County CPS Rainbow Room.

Over the past three days, members of the North Zulch FFA uncovered the possibilities by attending the Region IV Leadership Conference in Galveston, Texas. 7 STAR Events and 2 Spotlights advanced to state.
