2024 Farm Bill could help Madison County farmers

Local extension agents say the 2024 Farm Bill, also known as the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024, could help farmers and ranchers in Madison County. Allen Homann, a county extension agent from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, and Ty Jordan, an extension agent from Prairie View A&M University Extension, believe the bill could positively impact their work and the local agricultural community.

Silver-Haired Legislators select top 10

The 20th Texas Silver- Haired Legislature (TSHL) convened at the State Capitol for their 20th Legislative Session, May 5 – 9. Sixty-four delegates from 28 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) Regions in Texas were in attendance. Speaker Sherry Hubbard gaveled the assembly to order on Monday, May 6, to begin the process of passing resolutions that will be compiled in the TSHL 20th Legislative Report. Connie Clements and David Hackethorn attended as legislators representing the Brazos Valley AAA Region.
