Kevin Counsil (Madison County Republican Party Chair) and Gary Lindsey (Madison County Democrat Party Chair) have put together a candidate forum prior to early voting for the upcoming May 1 election. The decided date will be Tuesday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Truman Kimbro Center in Madisonville.

There are six city council candidates vying for one spot and six for the Madisonville County school board vying for four spots.

City candidates include Chris McGilbra, Auburn Rose, Randy Walker, Brandon Hutsen, Melissa Hinojosa and Terri Brown Davis.

For Madisonville School Board, Dennis McWhorter is running unopposed for Position 1 along with Greg McBee for Position 3. Jason James Cleere and Etta Spivey are contending for Position 2 while Dale Hurst and Lance Byrd go head-to-head for Position 4.

Upon arrival, there will be a sign-in sheet for candidates, who will sit as a group at the tables in front of the audience. After brief introductions, candidates will field questions written on index cards by attendees and delivered by Counsil and Lindsey.

Each candidate will have a chance to answer each question.
