April Ann (Conner) Zachary – loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend; 69 years of Madisonville, TX; passed away on Monday; March 6, 2023, in Carrollton, TX. April’s life will be celebrated on Saturday; March 25, 2023, at 2PM at The Midway Church of Christ in Midway, TX. Bro. Ben Stevens will officiate.

April was born on July 6, 1953 in Borger, TX to Bill and Dovie (Jones) Conner and was the oldest of three children.

They moved to Deer Park, TX in 1960 and then to Madisonville, TX in 1968.

April graduated from Madisonville High School in 1971, and while in high school, she met her future husband, Lonnie Zachary and they were married in 1973. They had two children, B.J. and Conner and built their life in Madisonville where they lived for the remainder of their lives. April and Lonnie were married for forty-five years before Lonnie passed away in 2018.

April loved working with children and dedicated her life to this calling as she worked at Madisonville Elementary School for over fifteen years while also providing loving care to her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

April taught by example, demonstrating patience, love, and kindness to everyone she met.

April was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Dovie Conner; her beloved husband, Lonnie Zachary; and her son, B.J. Zachary.

April is survived by her daughter, Conner Zachary of Bryan, TX; her sister, Candice Conner of Dallas, TX; her brother, Jack Conner (Lilly) of Coppell, TX; her daughter-in-law and sonin- law, Tara and Thomas Pack of College Station, TX; her grandchildren, Zoe Zachary, Rai Pack, and Ian Pack; her nieces, Caitlin Conner and Callie Conner; her nephews, Cameron Conner and Cade Conner; and a host of other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Midway Church of Christ (14453 TX Highway 21; Midway, TX).
