Dorothy was born on December 11, 1930 in Normangee, Texas to Earl C. And Myrtie Ethridge Parker. The family always remembered Dorothy’s birthday because it was the day her daddy would take the family out to chop down the Christmas tree. Dorothy spent most of her young life in Madisonville, Texas along with her six siblings. The Parker family is a large and loving family. Dorothy met the love of her life, William “Forrest” Graham in 1947. Dorothy was a high school senior and Forrest was attending Sam Houston University. Dorothy and Forrest were married on July 1, 1949. Their three children joined the family and the family started their adventures throughout Texas and Louisiana. Forrest was a band director and a church minister of music. During their moves, Dorothy finished her college education and graduated with honors from Louisiana College. The family moved to Brenham in 1968 where the family roots were planted. All three children graduated from Brenham High School where Forrest was the band director and Dorothy taught world history. Dorothy and Forrest completed their masters degrees from Sam Houston University. Dorothy and Forrest moved to the Conroe area in 1975. They both quickly became active in the Conroe community and First Baptist Church. Dorothy continued to be active in her church until her health began to fail. Dorothy and Forrest took many church groups to their favorite place Glen Eyrie Castle. They volunteered at Glen Eyrie for a number of years. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis (Johnny) Tucker, and Susie (Mark) Long, and her daughter-in-law Laura Graham.
