1952 -2024 James Rodger “Rod” Robinson died peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home in North Zulch, Texas. Rod was born on October 3, 1952, to Chris and Patricia Brand Robinson and named after composer, Richard Rodgers, whose music Chris performed on Broadway. Rod was a kind and helpful man with a passion for motorcycles and deep love for his family and friends. Rod was a Master Carpenter with gifted hands that could seemingly fix or build almost anything.

Rod is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Yeagin- Robinson; his daughter, Shanell Hartwig and husband, Joshua of Parker, Colorado; his sons, Barron Bennett and wife, Emma of Denver, Colorado and Austin Cunningham and wife, Valerie of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren; Dayc, Jacob, Macy, and Madyson Cunningham, and Hudson and Baby-on-the-way Hartwig; sisters, Cindy Gunderman and husband, Randy and Christy Smith and husband, Mark.

Rod’s family extends special thanks to Elizabeth Guitreau, Jody Hampton, Casey Holden, and the staff of Allumine Home Health and Hospice for their exemplary care.

A visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Madisonville Funeral Home, 1511 E. Main Street, Madisonville, Texas 77864.

A service celebrating Rod’s life was held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 254 Madison Avenue, North Zulch, Texas 77872.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allumine Home Health and Hospice, 1144 Midtown Dr. College Station TX 77845.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
