1937 – 2023

Jerry Loyd Bland, 86 years, 5 months, 5 days; from Bedias, TX, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. The Masonic funeral were conducted at graveside at 2 p.m Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023 at Bedias Baptist Cemetery in Bedias, TX. Bro. Matt Carey will officiated.

Jerry was born on May 12, 1937 to John Loyd and Mary Annie Mable (Denney) Bland. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and was retired from the Harris County Sheriff ’s Department. Jerry enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, and attending Masonic functions.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Janett Slaughter, Francis Commander, Shirley Grimmer, Kenneth Bland, Ralph Bland, and Danny Bland.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Ann (Bailey) Bland; his children, Christine Bland and Jerry Lynn Bland (Marti); his grandchildren, Stefanie Liuskos, Kacie Safford and Adam Rigney; his great grandchildren, Alex, Jerry Eathan and Zeke Liuskos and Seth, Mathew, Thelia, Elizabeth and Allie Rigney; and his brother, William Thomas Bland (Judy).
