Patricia Ann “Patsy” Matejka; 76 years, 9 months, 22 days; a longtime resident of Madisonville, TX and a current resident of Bandera, TX; passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Kerrville, TX. Patsy’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Madisonville Christian Fellowship in Madisonville, TX with the burial to follow at Madisonville Cemetery in Madisonville, TX. Her son, Pastor Wade Phillips, will officiate. The visitation is scheduled from 5-7PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX.

Patsy was born on June 27, 1946, in Lufkin, TX to Jessie “Brent” and Gertie (Rogers) Bradford. She graduated from Madisonville High School in 1964 and was a long-time employee of First National Bank of Madisonville (now known as Prosperity Bank) and retired as a department manager with the bank.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her infant sister, Angelia; and her niece, Shonda Bradford.

Patsy is survived by her long-time partner, John Bitting; her siblings, Jimmy Bradford (Karen), Kenneth Bradford (Stacy), and Becky Maness (Joe); her children, Wade Phillips (Tonya), Brian Matejka, and Amber Ferriol (Mike); her grandchildren, Nicholas Phillips (Courtney), Kaleb Drake, Natalie Drake, Mya Ferriol, and Mikey Ferriol; her great grandchildren, Anna Grace, Kylie Dior, and Brent Alan; and numerous nephews, their spouses and families; along with a host of friends who she cherished like family.

Patsy will always be remembered for her love of both kinds of music - country and western and dancing. She was always the life of the party, and her smile would light up any room she walked in to; she could make a friend wherever she went. Her “Golden Girls”, Leslie and Lou Ann, will miss their “Rose” and will keep the party going in her honor. She will be remembered by her grandchildren as the best NaNa ever with hugs that could heal any hurt; and they will cherish her special nicknames she had for each of them. Her children will always remember how hard-working and strong she was and how she did whatever she needed to do to provide the best life she could for them. She has left them with a legacy of dedicated service and unwavering love.

Serving as pallbearers are her grandson, Nicholas Phillips and her nephews, Sean Snook, John Snook, Heath Bradford, Nathan Bricker, Brett Snook, Jace Snook, and Preston Snook. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Paul Bailey, Don Bodenhamer, Dennis Drgac, Jack Hunter, Bubba Marshall, and Butch McDaniel.
