Zettye (McWhorter) Ferguson, 81 of Madisonville, TX; passed away on Friday; November 19, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday; November 21, 2021 at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX with the burial following at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Madisonville, TX. Bro. Dean Ferguson officiated. A visitation was held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.

Zettye was born on November 19, 1940 in North Zulch, TX to B.D. and Mary Lillian (Martin) McWhorter. She graduated from North Zulch High School, married Glenn “Butch” Ferguson and moved to Houston, TX, where she worked for the City of Houston Municipal Court System until her retirement.

Zettye was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, “Butch”; her parents, B.D and Mary Lillian; and her siblings, Ella Lewis, Gerreldene Hoppe, and Louise Redmon. She is survived by her daughter, Diann Hutchins (Herbert); her granddaughters, Tonya Fickey, Nickie Yosko (Rick), and Sonya Mitchell (Dallas); her grandson, Terry Glenn Fields; and her great grandchildren, Jana Spillars, Joey Fickey, and Will Spillars; her great great grandchildren, Audrey, Aiden, Ava, Zoey, and Kyler; and her siblings, Bobbie Souther, David McWhorter, and Tommy McWhorter.

Serving as pallbearers were: Terry Glenn Fields, Thomas McWhorter, Will McWhorter, Will Spillars, Don Lewis, and Darryl Lewis.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Roy Fickey, Herbert Hutchins, Steven Spillars, Jerry Ferguson, Jason Beam, David Bird, Robert Langley, and Rick Yosko.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Zettye’s memory may be given to: The Madisonville Volunteer Fire Department, The Midway Volunteer Fire Department, or The North Zulch Volunteer Fire Department.
