Super Bowl LIV in South Florida is set. After a 50-year hiatus from the big game, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Tennessee Titans 35-24 Sunday to become AFC Champions for the first time since the 1969 season. The conference’s trophy bears the name of the franchise’s founding father, Lamar Hunt. Son and current owner, Clark Hunt, accepted the trophy after the win. more

The North Zulch Lady Bulldogs basketball team dropped their district opener Friday at Somerville by a score of 62-37 after defeating Caldwell 41-28 Jan. 7 to conclude their non-league slate. The team attempted to bounce back in district Tuesday with another road matchup at Snook.
“(Somerville) was 18-2 on the season entering the game and just really good,” said head coach Michael Stenseth. “We knew that after last year and what they would have coming back. We knew they would have four or five weapons that could post double digits.” more
