The Madisonville softball team fell to 1-3 in district play with a pair of losses on the week to Robinson and China Spring and a victory over La Vega. The Lady Mustangs concluded their first stint of district Thursday in Connally.
Last Friday’s North Zulch baseball was in action against the Grapeland Sandies at home. The Bulldogs struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Grapeland, falling 11-0.

The Madisonville tennis team geared up for their district tournament in China Spring Wednesday and Thursday by hosting the Mustang Invitational at MHS March 16. A number of Madisonville players garnered top finishes during the varsity and junior varsity tournament.
Nine seniors on the Madisonville men’s and women’s soccer teams were honored at Mustang Stadium with their families prior to their season finale matchups against New Waverly Friday. Both the Mustangs and Lady Mustangs picked up 7-0 victories on senior day.
The Madisonville baseball team split a pair of non-district matchups last week with a loss on the road at Bellville March 16 and a victory over Palestine at MHS Friday. The Mustangs opened district play in Robinson Friday and will host China Spring Monday.
The Madisonville softball team defeated Anderson-Shiro 14-1 in their final non-league matchup on the road March 16 before falling 26-14 in their district opener at Mexia Friday. The Lady Mustangs hosted LaVega in their first home district matchup Tuesday and will travel to Robinson Friday.

Both Madisonville soccer squads concluded their seasons with lopsided 7-0 victories over New Waverly at MHS Friday night and honored the program’s nine seniors in the process. The six seniors honored on the men’s side included Jesus Zavala, Jose Garnica, Antonio Vazquez, Diego Torres, Ryan Kinsey and Julian Bastardo.
