On the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 8, Madisonville High School had two senior student-athletes sign letters of intent in the Mustang Gym.

One player of the Mustangs baseball team signed his intent to play at the next level. Caden Miller signed with Houston Christian University to play for the Huskies.

“Getting to play with all my buddies I’ve grown up with, it’s been a blast, and with this being my senior year, we’re going to have a good time this season,” said Miller

“It’s what they’re trying to build at HCU; it’s not your typical bring guys in and then go out, you stay there, you go there, it’s building a family,” said Miller when asked why he signed with HCU.

Grace Coleman plays for the Lady Mustangs softball team and signed with the Alvin Community College to play for the Dolphins.

“It was a good experience playing with the Mustangs; we had a lot of bonding moments; during my four years, I have gotten to meet a lot of upperclassmen, and they’ve been good mentors to me,” said Coleman

“I would like to say thank you to Coach Hooten; last year was my best year of softball yet,” said Coleman; when asked why she is signing with the Alvin Dolphins, she said, “I love the environment and the coaches, I know some of the girls, and I love the atmosphere.
