Darrell Hall neighborhood news: It is very important that Darrell Hall property owners let us know their thoughts and concerns as the process comes closer to implementation. Please visit our Facebook page and share your “two cents.”

We wrote Commissioner Mallet last week… “What do you feel our timeline will be before we will have something to share with DH homeowners, are we looking at days, weeks, or months? Once a neighborhood does vote to accept the county roadway bond issue, how long should we expect for actual roadway construction to begin? What can we do to help this along?”

Grimes County Commissioner Chad Mallett wrote us: “I hope to have accurate information to present to the landowners within the next month. Still waiting on the procedures to create a road district. Once the vote passes, the bid phase will take 60 to 90 days.”

I am also looking into creating Road Districts (Sec 257.021, referenced below) for each subdivision as an alternative to Chapter 253. Road Districts have the ability to issue bonds with a majority vote.”

Another useful tool is the bi-monthly Bedias Community Newsletter (the latest issue is December/January), which goes to every postal address in the Bedias zip code, for more information contact Mackie Bobo-White, mackiebobo44@gmail.com.
