Fundraiser scheduled

The North Zulch Volunteer Fire Department is once again offering barbecue plates as part of its annual fundraiser.

On Mother’s Day Weekend, Saturday, May 12, there will be barbecue plates that include brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, bread, tea, pickles and onions, available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Whole briskets are available for $70. Orders are due May t and must be paid in advance. Delivery can be arranged.

Buckle Blowout set

The Centerville FFA is hosting a fun shoot on Saturday, May 12, at the Madison County Gun & Archery Club in Madisonville.

The shoot will help raise funds for the Centerville FFA team to attend the AG Clays 381 State Shooting Contest in San Antonio in June.

Registration/Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., and the contest begins at 8:30 a.m.

Entry fees are $75 per shooter and includes four rounds of trap and lunch. The shooter must provide ammunition. A $10 Mulligan is offered — shoot an entire round of trap (25 birds) to replace your lowest score. Entries must be turned in and paid for by Friday, May 4, and are limited to 70.

Clean Up scheduled

A perfect opportunity for residents to dispose of items that can’t be collected by regular trash pick-up will be offered throughout the month of April.

The City of Madisonville Rock Yard, on Mickey Leland Street, will be open Monday-Friday from

8-11 a.m. for Madisonville residents to dispose of these items.

No tires, glass, wood with nails, paint, oil, pesticides, medical waste, light ballast, items containing asbestos, batteries, shingles, refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions, microwaves, computers, or other electronics will be accepted.

Residents must present a water bill or driver’s license for address verification.
