Aretha was born April 16, 1973, to proud parents Felix Curtis and Aretha Turner. Aretha attended school and graduated from Madisonville. Sally was loved by many. She passed away Aug. 26, 2018, at CHI Madisonville St. Joseph Health Center.
Aretha joined Pool Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. Sally worked for Walmart, and later went to work for Texas Department of Criminal Justice until her death. Sally later met and married the love of her life, George Dunn Jr., and to this union they had four children.
Sally was loved by many and “Big Sista” to all of her cousins. Sally was preceded in death by her father, Felix Curtis; a brother, Rayshawn Curtis; and both sets of grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hillard Curtis and Mr. and Mrs. Willie Jack (Jacob) Turner.
She leaves to share in this celebration a loving husband, George Dunn Jr. (Boobie); two sons, LaFelix (Brittany) and KeAndre; two daughters, Kendra (Casey) and Ke’Miya, all of Madisonville; a stepdaughter, Jasmine; a stepson, Keldric; her mother, Aretha Turner; a stepmother, Ruby Jefferson (Don); her father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Dunn Sr.; three sisters, Lakita Brice, Monique (Wesley) and La Dona; 10 grandchildren; her favorite uncle, Wayne Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and their husbands and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 31, at All Families Mortuary & Cremation Services in Madisonville. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, at All Families. Interment followed at West End Cemetery.
The family is most appreciative of your expressions of love, prayers, support and sympathy. Your presence, many acts of kindness, food, flowers, calls, cards and visits have given us strength. Special thanks to TDCJ Eastham Unit. May God bless you.
