Bonnie Evelyn (Allphin) Utecht Olsen, age 97, of Bryan, Texas passed away in her sleep on Monday, February 10, 2020 at St. Joseph Manor in Bryan. She was born on October 20, 1922 to Robbie and Willie Parker Allphin in North Zulch, Texas. After graduation from North Zulch, she moved to Pasadena to live with her husband, Ludwig Gus Utecht and raise their three children, Linda, Bobbie, and Larry, until Gus retired. They moved back to North Zulch in 1973 where she spent the majority of her years donating her time to the school district, managing a local grocery store, and enjoying her grandchildren. She and Gus were married 41 years until his passing in 1987. She married Harold “Ole” Olsen of North Zulch in 1991, where they continued to reside for the next 20 years until moving to a retirement community in Bryan in 2011.

Bonnie leaves behind her husband, Ole of 29 years; two brothers, Noble Allphin of Bryan, Gene Allphin of North Zulch; her daughter, Bobbie Scott and husband J.R. of Mt. Pleasant; her son, Larry Utecht and wife Karen of Leander; granddaughter, Lori Baker of North Zulch, grandsons, Brian Baker and wife Rebecca of North Zulch, John Scott of Mt. Pleasant, Alan Scott of Pasadena, and Ryan Utecht of Austin; eight great-grandchildren, Kyela and Kiera Cosby of North Zulch, Emma and Tripp Baker of North Zulch, Jeremy Edwards of Austin, Koby Utecht of Leander, and Rey and Alianna Scott of Mt. Pleasant; and one great-great-grandson, Tatum Edwards of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ford Allphin of Plantersville and Dempsey Allphin of Austin; and her daughter, Linda Utecht of North Zulch.

Pallbearers will include Brian Baker, John and Alan Scott, Jess and Nathan Gilbert, and Neal Allphin.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Willowhole Chapel in North Zulch. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, Texas, 77803.
