Bradley Wyatt McFarland, 60, was born on Nov. 30, 1957, in Houston, to Joe Carroll and Betty Jane (Madole) McFarland. He grew up in Houston. Bradley gauged oil wells for a living and had worked for Occidental Petroleum for 23 years.
For the past 30 years, Bradley had lived in rural Madison County enjoying all that country life had to offer. He grew blackberry bushes at his home in Midway and enjoyed taking care of them and having them produce an abundance of their delectable fruit. Bradley particularly loved fishing. He could spend all day at a pond or lake with a rod and reel. He also enjoyed a little hunting now and again.
Bradley passed away on Dec. 3, 2017, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Carroll McFarland. He is survived by his mother, Betty Rasco (Donald) of Tomball; wife, Stacey McFarland of Midway; son, Joshua James Helmer (Yecenia) of Tyler; sister, Carol Kirksey (David) of Seabrook and grandchildren, Joshua James, AnaLeigh Rose and Amelia Lee Helmer, all of Tyler.
A memorial service to celebrate Bradley’s life was held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. David Clapp officiated the service.
