Congressman Kevin Brady visited Buc-ee’s in Madisonville on Friday evening as the last stop on a local venture that also took him to the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and the C-Force Bottling Company in Navasota.
Before his stop at Buc-ee’s, the Congressman visited the square to discuss agricultural issues with the Texas Farm Bureau and stopped at Walker’s Cafe.
“I really wanted to come by and see how business is doing since tax reform,” said Brady. “Walker’s hired two new people this week, so that is two new jobs on the square. I wanted to speak with these businesses and find out if they notice a positive upswing in the economy, and it seems like they have.”
Buc-ee’s General Manager Kandace Henderson stated that she has noticed more sales and increased traffic in her store of late.
Congressman Brady was given a tour of the facility of one of Madisonville’s most thriving businesses and received a gift basket from the store as well.
Brady is currently the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and has served as a U.S. Representative for Texas’ 8th Congressional District since 1997. He is seeking reelection in 2018.
