Funeral services for Pastor Charles Heath, Sr., age 82, were held 10 A.M., Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. Tommy Thompson officiated the service. Interment followed in Park Cemetery.

Funeral services for Pastor Charles Heath, Sr., age 82, were held 10 A.M., Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. Tommy Thompson officiated the service. Interment followed in Park Cemetery.

Charles Eugene Heath, Sr. was born September 12, 1937 in Houston, Texas to Ory & Ione (Bobbitt) Heath. He lived most of his life in Madisonville and was a longtime rancher, lover of cows and steward of the land. Charles was the recipient of several Purina Mills awards and a member of the Board of the Federal Land Bank, as well as, chaplain at the Ferguson Prison Unit in Midway, Texas.

In January 1990, Charles helped establish and became the founding pastor of Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church in Centerville and remained there until 2001 when he reached retirement status.

Charles passed away January 26, 2020 at his home in Madisonville, Texas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; step-sister, Mary Florence Clopton and grandson, Chris Heath.

Surviving family members include wife, June Heath of Madisonville; son & daughter-in-law, Chuck & Lisa Heath of Madisonville; daughter, Debbie Heath of Madisonville; grandchildren, Lacey Moy & husband, Jordan, Kelsey Dale & husband, Josh, Candace Zepeda & husband, Carlos and Rob Koenig and great-grandchildren, Branson, Bryleigh, Bronx, Levi, Kodi Mae and Darren, as well as, Charles’ faithful companion, “Sam-Bo.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Traditions Health Hospice 600 E. Loop 304, Crockett, Texas 75835.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
