Funeral services for Chuck Reneau, 53, of McKinney, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. Brad Brock will officiate the service, and interment will follow at the family’s Ten Mile Cemetery near Normangee in rural Madison County near his mother, grandparents, cousins, and extended family. A brief visitation will take place before the service from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Charles “Chuck” Franchot Reneau II was born June 27, 1965, in Houston, to Charles Franchot Reneau and Lois Morris. He worked for Kroger Grocery Store where he had been employed for the past 15 years and had lived in McKinney for the past 10 years. Before his move to McKinney, he had lived in the Spring and Pearland areas. Charles was fondly known by most as “Chuck” by his family and old friends. He held a special love for all types of music and was an outstanding bass guitarist. While residing in Pearland, Chuck proudly played in the New Hope Church band in Manvel. He was an avid fan of baseball and the Houston Astros. He was also a weather enthusiast and enjoyed bowling, playing pool and poker, especially Texas Hold ’em.
Chuck passed away suddenly Feb. 12, 2019, in McKinney. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Everitt; a cousin, Randy Reneau; and a stepbrother, Donny Simkins.
Surviving family members include his father, Charles Reneau (Elaine) of Houston; his sister, Andra Reneau of Frisco; a stepbrother, David Simkins of Freeport; a niece, Addison Steck of Frisco; and a nephew, Devon Frederick of Tyler. Chuck is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
