City seeks robbery suspect


The Madisonville Police Department is looking for a man who robbed a Madisonville family in late July.

On Thursday, July 26, Dexiel Fountain, 30, is believed to have committed an aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, in the City of Madisonville.

According to police reports, Fountain knocked on the door of the victim’s family in the 700 block of Arrow Street at approximately 5:20 a.m.

The victim opened the door and Fountain reportedly pushed the door open, pointing a handgun and demanded money.

The victim soon realized that the handgun was an Airsoft — a toy — gun, and started an altercation; he then was able to get into the kitchen area and grab a knife, the report states. the The victim told police that he slashed his would-be attacker with the knife, who then fled the scene and was found in the 500 block of North Wilson Street with a knife wound to the right arm. The handgun also was recovered, the report states.

The suspect was transported to a hospital for treatment; later, charges were filed by the Madisonville Police Department and a warrant was issued, but Fountain had left Madisonville.

At this time Fountain could be in the City of Houston.
