City well in service; restrictions removed

The city of Madisonville has rescinded its request for voluntary water restrictions now that a third well is producing water.

As of Wednesday, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has approved the quality of the new well, and gave its blessing for it to be put into service.

City Manager Camilla Viator said the city appreciates the cooperation of its residents.

In addition to easing water restrictions, the city’s splash pad at Lake Madison Park has now returned to its normal hours of operation.
