Pool Chapel Baptist Church revival

Pool Chapel Baptist Church will host their annual revival through tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. each night at 1008 N McIver St. in Madisonville. Revival minister Rev. A.C. Clark III will visit from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in College Station. The church will also have their annual Homecoming at 3 p.m. Sept. 1 with the Rev. Clark speaking.

Girl Scout recruitment rally

Girl Scout Troop # 9504 will hold a recruitment rally at Madisonville Elementary School from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday. The Troop – which actually encompasses two troops to help fit everyone’s schedules – is open for girls from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Park Cemetery Association meeting

The Park Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 11 a.m. Monday at the cemetery. The meeting is for anyone who has reserved grave sites at the cemetery.

Tri-County Diggers Club

Reggie Lepley of the Walker County Agri-Life Extension Agency will give a presentation on how to plant fall trees at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 in the Bedias Civic Center for the Tri-County Diggers Club. The presentation will kick off the Club’s fall seaon. All visitors are welcome.

Lake View Baptist Church invites friends and neighbors to its annual “Pack The Pews” event, 3 p.m. Sept. 8 at the church, 404 N Short St. in Madisonville. Pastor Darrell Dever of First Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville will deliver the sermon.

MC/MA reunion

Organizers have slated the Madisonville Colored/Marian Anderson High School reunion for Oct. 5. They are looking for graduates of the 1969, 1970 and 1971 classes. Graduates from those years should contact Jackie Johnson or Alice Turner at 936-348-8344.

Brazos County Expo Pavilion

Texas A&M University and Bryan community groups will host the Brazos County Expo Pavilion, a community-wide international festival to promote and celebrate the international diversity and heritage of the Brazos Valley on Nov. 9 at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan. Festival and event parking are free. The festival includes culture displays, demonstrations, performances on multiple stages, arts and crafts, storytelling, vendors, international cuisine and more. Head Start

BVCAP Head Start is a preschool program that provides comprehensive educational social services to eligible children. Head Start provides a rich, developmentally appropriate

Parenting class

Safe Families of Brazos Valley hosts a parenting class at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for adults 18 years or older.

The class continues every Thursday until May 16, and meets from 5:30-7 p.m. Topics include communication, family fun, problem solving and more. Dinner and childcare provided.

Madisonville GED and ESL Classes

Adult GED (general education diploma) classes will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at 714 Bacon St. in Madisonville. There is no charge for attending.

English as a Second Language classes will be held Mondays from 5-9 p.m. Classes are free to attend.

A free community grief program for pet loss will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. the second Saturday each month at the Mending Hearts Grief Center, 2112 Southwood Drive, in College Station.
