The Madison County Commissioners’ Court on Monday approved the returns for the 2018 gen-eral election, held Nov. 6.
Madison County Elections Administrator Earl Parker said that there were no significant changes in the vote totals. He did say, though, that out of five provisional votes cast in the county, one was counted and the other four were not.
Monday’s meeting was called for the canvass; originally, the election was to be canvassed last week, but the deadline for mail ballots fell on the meeting date and the matter had to be moved.
In other business, the county:
•approved a $520 purchase order for the Madison County Library for renewal of subscriptions with Popular Subscription Services;
•approved a $4,250.72 purchase order for the Election Administrator for programming for the November general election;
•approved a $2,995 purchase order for timesheets in the November election; and
•approved a $4,317.50 purchase order for poll workers.
