Madison County officials announced the their 11th confirmed case of COVID-19 Wednesday to citizens via a text message alert. The individual who tested positive is a female between the ages of 10 and 19 and possesses a 77864 ZIP code.

County confirms 11th case of COVID-19

Madison County officials announced the their 11th confirmed case of COVID-19 Wednesday to citizens via a text message alert. The individual who tested positive is a female between the ages of 10 and 19 and possesses a 77864 ZIP code.

Of the county’s 11 confirmed cases, seven have successfully recovered so far, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). The county has now had a total of 17 cases (including six individuals at the Ferguson Unit).

“We urge our residents to continue to practice safe social distancing and good hygiene,” said county officials in the alert. “Those persons who are considered to be part of our vulnerable population should continue to take additional precautions. Those who believe they may be sick should avoid being out in public if possible and seek medical care and guidance as needed.”
