Madison County officials confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 Friday, including a female under the age of 10 in the 77864 Zip code, a male aged 20-29 in the same Zip code as well as a female aged 30-39 in the 77872 Zip code.

There are currently 11 active cases in Madison County, according to the alert. But officials also recognize a time lapse between the testing process, patients receiving results and the ultimate alert sent to citizens, suggesting the number could be slightly skewed.

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has removed three cases that were previously reported in Madison County and now show 24 cases plus an additional five at the Ferguson Unit.

There will be a walk-up test collection site at the Lake Madison Lakehouse Monday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tests will be administered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
