Funeral services for Dorothy Baylor, 91, of Madisonville, were held 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. Jim Jackson, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, officiated the service. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Allphin Cemetery.
Dorothy Ruth (Glass) Baylor was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Georgetown. She was raised in Georgetown and later lived in Houston where she and her husband raised their son. For a period of time, Dorothy worked in the oilfield business; however, she devoted the majority of her time to her family as a homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed crafting, gardening of flowers and vegetables and telephone conversations with friends. In her younger years, Dorothy took great joy in caring for her dogs. She had lived in Madisonville since 1992 and was Baptist in faith.
Dorothy passed away Dec. 18, 2018, in Madisonville following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; beloved husband, Thomas Willard “T.W.” Baylor; grandson, Reese Baylor; and two brothers.
Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Curtistene Baylor of Madisonville; granddaughters, Lori Gibbs (Brent) of Madisonville and Becky Siemens (Jonathon) of Plum Coulee, Manitoba, Canada; and three great-grandchildren.
