The First Baptist Women’s Retreat took place at the First Baptist Church in Madisonville Feb. 22-23, with more than 160 women in attendance.

There were many area churches represented that came together for worship and fellowship.

Jacki King was the guest speaker for the event. She is a wife and mother of three young boys, the youngest of which was adopted from Ethiopia. She and her husband Joshua live in Conway, Arkansas, where her husband is the Lead Pastor of Conway Baptist Church. Jacki, is also head of the Women’s Ministry at the church and writes her own Bible Study material. She has a passion for seeing Women fall in love with Jesus and His Word while challenging them to be on mission in their home, work place and communities.

Jacki’s message was taken from the Bible, John 15:1-17. Everyone in attendance was challenged to “Remain” in Christ. She encouraged the women to stop, sit, and be present. She stressed the importance in the vine in order to produce fruit.

Those in attendance also enjoyed a painting session with artists Lacy Kelso and Debby Hammit. Delicious meals were prepared by Betty Coleman, Michelle Mock and Donnie Wendell. Wendy Hunt provided beautiful Praise and Worship music for the event. Special testimonies were given by Pat Harper, Salena Dorsey and Liz Stover. Attendees expressed thanks to the FBC staff and Women’s Ministry Team for making this such a memorable weekend.
