Geneda “Neda” Marie Moore, age 95, formerly of Madisonville, Texas, passed away peacefully on the 31st day of May, 2019. She was born in Elkhart, Texas on the 3rd day of January, 1924, to Audie William Walston and Denise Agnes Howell Walston.
Mrs. Moore was a beautician and lived in Houston for 40 years, later moving to Madisonville, where she resided for the next 30 years. After her health declined, she relocated to Lake Hills to be closer to her son. Mrs. Moore loved to crochet and enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables. Over the years she won several awards for her prize winning pickles. She also enjoyed devoting much of her time to her garden. Mrs. Moore was a devoted mother who taught her sons to be gentlemen, as their wives can attest. She will be remembered as the best mother-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her parents Audie and Denise Walston; husband, Jimmy Moore; sister, Geneva M. Willard; brothers, John Monroe Walston, Marion Francis “Jack” Walston, Sr., and William Walston.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her sons, Danny Ray Moore and wife Frances of Lake Hills, Texas, Jimmie Moore, Jr. and wife Terrie of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jimmy Moore “JJ”, Danny Ray Moore, Jr., Candace Marie Moore, Kim Winkelmayer and Melanie Murphy. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Geneda Moore are to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, the 5th day of June, 2019 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
