≈August brings with it much more than hot temperatures and football; the eighth annual Madisonville Noon Lions Club Gun Show is just around the corner.
Set for Aug. 18-19 at the Truman Kimbro Center, the show offers dealers an opportunity to show off new items and sell wares. In past years, vendors and patrons from across the country have attended.
W.C. “Bunkin” Bennett, the show’s organizer, said this year’s event is full.
“We have 23 vendors coming who have rented 67 tables,” he said. “We will have new guns, old guns, World War II memorabilia, home-made knives, ammunition, and anything related to outdoors.”
Admission to event is $5; on Saturday, Aug. 18, it’s open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and on Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Funds raised from the event go toward scholarships for area youth.
