James "Randy" McClung, 64, passed away Dec. 21, 2018 in Bryan. He was born Feb. 9, 1954, to Mary (Cade) and J.W. McClung in Houston. Randy was raised in Houston and graduated from Bellaire High School.
Following graduation, Randy went straight into the workforce and took on the world with his ambitious attitude. He worked his whole life as a truck driver for various companies, such as, Miller Co., Mrs. Baird’s Bread and most recently, Midway Energy Services. He and his wife had lived in North Zulch since 2016, coming from Kerrville.
Randy was a loving husband, father, son, brother and cousin. He was a proud, lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well as, a staunch supporter of numerous non-profit organizations. He could never pass up NASCAR and a good beer and will forever be remembered by his family and friends as a good man. Randy will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a stranger to none and a friend to all.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, J.W. McClung; and son, Chris Herrin. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joann “Missy” McClung of North Zulch; sons, Cameron McClung of Houston and James Ghormley and wife, Kaylin, of Midway; brother, Gary McClung and wife, Asu, of Kerrville; niece and nephews, Angela, Anthony, Andrew and Adam McClung, all of Kerrville; and he always will be remembered as “Ray Ray” to his adoring grandchildren, Jaedyn, Krislyn, Madison, Brianna, John and Olivia.
Funeral services for Randy McClung were held 2 P.M., Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. Joel Douget officiated the service followed by interment in the Midway Cemetery in Midway.
Pallbearers were Cameron McClung, James Ghormley, Gary McClung, Robert Rutter, Eric Williams and Larry Dromgoole.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Midway Cemetery Association.
