Celebrating our independence


The Third Annual Hometown Fourth of July Celebration will start at 4 p.m. at Lake Madison Park, and offers a full day of activities as well as more than one reason to look up to the sky.

Entertainment begins with the event, starting with Jessie Jaenicke from 4-5 p.m. Dennis Ivey will perform from 5 to 9:30 p.m., with Wade Phillips taking over during the intermissions. Windy Hunt will perform the National Anthem to kick off the fireworks display.

Also, with weather permitting, the Skydiving Company will land between 6-7 p.m.

Along with the entertainment, kids can enjoy the Splash Pad, water slides, face painting, a photo booth, games and dummy roping.

For kids of all ages, a car show will be held. Registration will take place from 4-6 p.m., and voting will take place from 6-7 p.m. Awards will be handed out at 7:30 p.m.

There will be food and retail vendors, including Arjon Tacos, Kona Ice, Reyes Taco Truck, Silver Sup Soda, J3 Customs ATV, Texas Best Kettle Corn, The Chickenwire Pantry, WineandWoodwork, Cynfulee Sweet and Delicious, Cheese Me Food Truck and there will be and ALS Cornhole Fundraiser.

Volunteers include Madisonville First Responders, Dennis Ivey Band, Wade Phillips, Windy Hunt, Matt Carey and volunteers from the First Baptist Church of Madisonville, Mindy Crouch, T.J. Douga, Madisonville Care Center, City of Madisonville employees.
