Lady Bulldogs drop two

NORTH ZULCH - The North Zulch Lady Bulldogs' basketball team struggled last week with two more losses on the season to District opponents.

"Last week was a rough one for us. Normangee is a solid team and we just never got into the flow of the game against them. We lost to Iola. There is a rivalry there, and both teams always play their best," said the Lady Bulldogs head coach Kimberly Branch.

The Normangee Panthers went to the road to visit North Zulch and walked away with the win. This is the second time this season the Bulldogs played Normangee. They lost the last meeting as well.

Last Friday, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Iola for their second meeting this year. This game did not go as well as last time, as they lost this one to Iola.

Branch was proud of her girls' effort on Friday night, saying, "We played a good game, just fell short. We missed some shots we needed down the stretch, and they were hitting late in the game."

The Lady Bulldogs are still in the hunt for the post season. With a win this week against Burton, the North Zulch's girls can tie Iola for the last playoff spot.

The North Zulch Lady Bulldogs will be hosting Somerville High School on Friday. This is the Lady Bulldogs last home game and senior night.
