The North Zulch Lady Bulldogs softball team celebrated the careers of Megan Massey, Shelby Harkrider and Ally Grier with a win over Mumford at NZHS on senior night.
“Senior night was wonderful,” said Coach Corina Barrington. “I got to honor the girls who have been such a tremendous help to me. It was emotional, but it made me feel good to get to say that our season is not done and the girls have more ahead of them.”
The win puts the Lady Bulldogs in fourth place in their district standings with one regular season game remaining. They battled second-place Snook on the road on Tuesday to conclude their district slate.
Massey, Harkrider and Grier were honored before the game on Friday on the field with their families.
“These girls can crack a smile even in the most difficult of circumstances,” said Barrington. “While competitiveness is a big part of their lives, they know that it is not the only aspect or the most important. I am so happy that my three seniors are going to college to pursue a degree because I know that they will be able to have a wonderful attitude throughout all of it.”
