The Madisonville Lady Mustangs basketball team lost a home matchup to the Marlin Bulldogs at MHS last Tuesday by a score of 52-44.
Madisonville put up more shots and even edged Marlin’s field goal percentage by a point, but the Bulldogs were able to convert on seven three-pointers to just two for the Mustangs. Marlin also converted 59 percent of their free throws (20-34) to just 30 percent for Madisonville (6-20).
The teams each recorded a total of 31 rebounds. Nine of the boards were recorded by Daiona Johnson of the Lady Mustangs. She also tallied 15 total assists. Jyah Burns led the way in scoring in the contest with 17 points.
The Mustangs were able to force 16 turnovers on the night.
Madisonville battled Rudder on the road on Tuesday night and will compete in a tournament at Fairfield over the weekend.
