Graveside services for Leola Boswell, 92, of Sugar Land and formerly of Madison County, were held Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch. The Rev. Taylor Sandlin of-ficiated the service.
Leola Louise (Haywood) Boswell was born April 19, 1926 in Magnolia, to Robert Roy and Cassie Francis (Carraway) Haywood. She operated a flower nursery in Humble for a number of years and was a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Boswell was a faithful member of Sugar Land Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was a church secretary, Sunday school teacher, pianist, organ-ist and Woman’s Missionary Union leader. She also devoted many hours knitting hundreds of caps and making lap quilts for orphans in other countries. Mrs. Boswell had lived in Sugar Land for the past 14 years. She passed away Nov. 13, 2018, in Sugar Land.
Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Willis Olan Boswell; a son, Danny O. Boswell; a baby daughter, Judy Sue Boswell; and a grandson, Christopher M. Freeman. Surviving family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Doris Ann and Michael E. Freeman of Sugar Land; a sister, Una Mae Dennison of Houston; and a grandchild, Elizabeth Freeman of Sugar Land.
