Leona Theiss, 88, our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on October 26, 2020. Born in Lompoc, California August 30, 1932, Leona was one of three children of Amos Sorenson and Addy Bentley. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Edwin William Theiss and siblings, Boyson Sorson and Audrey Foster.

Leona Theiss, 88, our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on October 26, 2020. Born in Lompoc, California August 30, 1932, Leona was one of three children of Amos Sorenson and Addy Bentley. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Edwin William Theiss and siblings, Boyson Sorson and Audrey Foster.

Leona was a loving mother to three children, Michael Theiss (Janet), Joyce Samford and Boyson Theiss (Theresa). She will be fondly remembered as having a 'green thumb' and being her grandchildren's number one fan. Leona was a devoted grandmother to nine, William Theiss, Daniel Theiss, Dusty Samford, Colby Samford, Corey Samford, Jessie Cumbie, Payden Theiss, Angel Green, and Blake Theiss. Anytime her grandkids participated in a concert, she would be sure to follow and cheer them on no matter the destination. Leona's heart also belonged to sixteen great-grandchildren, Rusty, Raelyn, Chance, Bryce, Kynzlee, Lakin, Tripp, Cash, Kasen, Landon, Aiden, Carli, Theiss, Jackson, Rilee, Brintley and two on the way.

Leona was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Zulch, Texas and a member of the Flower Club. She had lived in Madison County since 1979.

Funeral services took place 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Zulch, Texas, and burial followed at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Randall Smith officiated the service.

Serving as pallbearers were Leona's seven grandsons.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
