Shepherd Creek Ranch from North Zulch, Texas captured Reserve Grand Champion Purebred/Fullblood with their goat Shepherd Creek Nasty Habit in the American Premier Boer Goat show at the 2019 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on January 21. The 2019 Show offered a total of $9,600 in premiums that was judged by Joe Teel of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Shepherd Creek Ranch also saw success in a number of categories out of entries by the names of Ready To Play, Hurricane Harvey, The Cake Is A Lie and Spot Black.
Of the 33,000 entries at the nation’s longest-running livestock show, the livestock exhibited by the more than 11,500 junior exhibitors are among the best market animals in the country. While the livestock are impressive, one of the Show’s main objectives is to support the professional and leadership development efforts offered by the 4-H and FFAQ programs in Texas.
“The Stock Show serves as a nurturing point for these future business and civic leaders,” said Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes. “This commitment is a founding principle of the Stock Show and we remain humbled with the number of Texas youth who choose to exhibit in the many events at the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.”
The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo features exciting rodeo action, shopping, food, livestock and equestrian competitions as well as a carnival in more than three weeks of entrainment. The show opened on Jan. 18 and will last until Feb. 9. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.fwssr.com or call (817) 877-2420.
