Mask hiding true intent slipping

Anyone that has any notion that the Democrats have an insidious agenda regarding this country should probably pay a little closer attention to the news, yes, even the massively biased national news media.

Three events happened recently that have sent chills up my spine, and shows us the liberals' true face.

It's not about doing what's best for the country any more; it's about us being told what's best for us, and the liberals will stack the deck to ensure that happens.

Exhibit A: Rep. Adam Schiff, a California Democrat who looks to change laws to accomplish his aims, namely getting rid of President Donald Trump.

At all costs, including liberty.

Seems the congressman vehemently disagrees with a Department of Justice finding that a sitting president cannot be indicted.

Schiff apparently believes that Trump is guilty of violating campaign finance laws, based on a guilty plea agreement entered into between Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer, and Robert Mueller, special counsel leading the never-ending investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016 election.

(As an aside, the investigation was about rigging elections, but now we're dealing with finance.)

The connection here is that Cohen apparently paid hush money to women during Trump's campaign, women who reportedly had affairs with the president. So now, since we have a plea, we must hand the president his head, regardless of cost.

The ends seem to justify the means.

Exhibit B: U.S. Rep.-elect Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, a "socialist" Democrat from New York, who thinks that the government is power, and plans on using that power on anyone who should be so brazen to make fun of her.

Donald Trump Jr. shared a "joke" on Instagram making fun of socialist policies, and was told by the doyenne that it's a "mistake" to troll someone who will soon have access to subpoena power.

It's a real short distance from making veiled and not-so-veiled threats about exercising free speech to establishing the Cheka, which was done by socialist Vladimir Lenin after the Russian Revolution.

For the non-history inclined, the Cheka was the precursor to the KGB, which silenced all political opposition. That sounds suspiciously familiar here. And when you combine that with the push for gun control, you have a recipe for a disaster that will make Russia and Venezuela look like a bad pep rally.

Exhibit C: U.S. Rep. Ted Lieu, another California Democrat, who said he would "love to be able to regulate the content of speech."

He went on to say the First Amendment prevents him from doing that, but hey, wouldn't it be the bees' knees?

He did backpedal, though, saying it's not the purview of the government, but put out to corporations that they could police their workers.

There can be no reason whatsoever to limit our freedom for the sake of rulers. That is decidedly opposite from what the Founding Fathers established when writing our Constitution.

These ideas, though, still serve as evidence that the direction the Democrats want to take us is dark, and has failed time and again.
