MHS FCCLA shines in Galveston

Madisonville High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) took 11 teams to compete in Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events at the Regional Leadership Conference in Galveston Feb. 6-8.

MHS student Audrey Wooten was also named the new Region IV President while Senior Officers Alyssa Nail and Ashley Saucedo were named State Vice President of Competitive Events and Region IV Vice President of Parliamentary Law, respectively.

Seven of the 11 competing MHS teams advanced to the state competition, which takes place in Dallas April 2-4.

Among the seven teams advancing to state include ‘Focus on Children Level 3’ with Chandler Sandlin and Harmony Schmidt, ‘Food Innovation Level 2’ with Olivia Crowder and Emily Whitesides, ‘Food Innovations Level 3’ with Cristina Tipaz, ‘Interpersonal Communications Level 3’ with Madison M. Jackson, ‘Job Interview Level 2’ with Delaney Callaham, ‘Job Interview Level 3’ with Frank Emmitee and ‘Parliamentary Procedure Level 3’ with Martin Munoz, Noah Doggett, William Whitesides, Garrett Underwood, Mariela Grimaldo, Gritashia Hopkins-Fite and Kallie Tilton.

MHS FCCLA Advisors include Linda Clinton, Cindy Kyle, Brandie Pate and Shawnique Cooper.
