Mildred (Stricklin) Sowell; 100 years, 10 months, and 6 days; passed away on March 14, 2019 in Conroe, TX. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday; March 19, 2019 at Midway City Cemetery in Midway, TX.
Mildred was born on May 8, 1918 to Charlie and Ruth Stricklin in Madisonville, TX. She, along with her siblings, Sam, Dick, Roger, and Reid grew up on the family farm in Madisonville, TX. Mildred married Nolan Sowell and they eventually moved to Houston, TX where she worked for many years at Foley's. When she and Nolan retired, they moved to Lake Conroe, TX where she enjoyed having many friends at her church and in her neighborhood. Mildred loved pretty flowers and always had a beautiful yard where ever she lived. She dedicated her life to making things pretty and helping others.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter (Rose), and her great-great-granddaughter (Lily). She is survived by her daughter (Donna) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
