The Madisonville Mustangs golf team was victorious in the Teague Tournament at the Tri-County Golf Course by 13 strokes on March 18 and will compete in one more tournament before the district postseason begins in April.
As a team, Madisonville shot a total of 325 to top the rest of their competitors at the course. Brylen Mills continued his dominance for the Mustangs on the links with his third consecutive tournament posting a score of at least one stroke under 69.
Jordan Prescott was behind him with a score of 75 while Jordan Baker placed sixth and Gage Weeks placed 11th. Madisonville’s Cade Colwell also impressed in Teague by recording his lowest score of the season.
The Mustangs competed in their final regular season tournament of the season on Monday in Grapeland and will now prepare for the District Tournament, which will also take place at Tri-County Country Club on April 1 and 8.
If the Mustangs can qualify, the Regional Tournament will take place April 22-23 and the State Tournament May 20-21.
