Funeral services for Nina Parker, 90, were held Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. Dennis Ivey officiated the service. Burial followed in the Greer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Guy "Buggs" Burroughs III, Roy Parker, Jerry Parker, Tommy Cleveland, G.G. Reynolds and David Culbreth.
Honorary pallbearers were Richard Synwolt and James Bracewell.
Nina Elizabeth Parker was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Madison County, to Levi and Millie (Powell) Tullos. She grew up in Madison County and worked alongside her husband, Ira, at their family farm. Nina enjoyed crocheting, word search puzzles and keeping up with the weather and news on television. She also enjoyed watching "The Young and the Restless." Nina was Baptist in faith and had lived in Madison County most of her life. She passed away Feb. 12, 2018, in Madisonville. Nina was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Ira "Bo" Parker; son, Billy Don Parker; daughters, Joyce Ann Parker and Virgie Mae Adams; and three sisters, Alma Bonds, Cleota DuBose and Alline Newton.
Surviving family members include daughter, Linda Miller and husband, Glenn, of Flynn; sister-in-law, Marie Ferguson of Leona; grandchildren, Beverly Yargo and husband, Matthew, of College Station, Karen Woodson of Mesquite, Debbi Adams of Killeen, Angela Adams of Fresno, Calif., Sharon Miller of Bryan and Chris Miller and wife, Nanette, of Eunice, La.; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
