NORTH ZULCH - The North Zulch Family, Career and Community Leaders of America has been preparing for six Students Taking Action with Recognition events for the organization's upcoming regional conference.
The FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12.
The participants from North Zulch ISD have been preparing their six events for the conference since August. The participants include Samantha Moore, Ana Osth, Emma Baker, Sally Osth, Dannika Diserens, Katelyn Crocker, Madison Murphy, Landon Theiss, Shelby Ward, Eridany Garcia and Zainab Sunny.
Moore and Ana Osth are members of the Interpersonal Communications team and have been selling cookies. Baker and Sally Osth of the Interpersonal Communications team hosted a movie night for pre-K through sixth graders and gave a presentation of the importance of re-sponsibility and kindness.
Diserens of the Life Event Planning event worked hard to help organize, decorate and host the annual North Zulch Ex-Student Dinner. Crocker, Murphy and Theiss of the National Programs in Action team demonstrated safety with their campaign to persuade citizens to buckle up on the roads. They ran a seatbelt check in the North Zulch parking lot and even demonstrated bus safety.
Ward, also affiliated with the National Programs in Action team, brought to attention the hor-rors of sex trafficking and invited a special host to the school to speak with the students and educate them further on the subject.
Lastly, Garcia and Sunny of the Promote and Publicize team have attended every FCCLA sponsored event. They have designed posters, passed out flyers and provided people with information on the organization. This team raised recognition as well as membership in North Zulch.
North Zulch's FCCLA also wished to recognize Mackenzie Green, who has been preparing to run for a Regional office. Along with these responsibilities, Green has been helping other mem-bers prepare for their STAR events and providing more students with knowledge of the organ-ization.
The regional conference will take place from Feb. 15-17 in Galveston.
