NZVFD gets gift of pumper

NORTH ZULCH - North Zulch Volunteer Fire Department received a life-saving gift last week - a fire engine.

The Retreat Volunteer Fire Department donated unit 4981, a 1972 Mack CF pumper truck.

The truck originally served the community of Staten Island, N.Y., Engine Company 167.

The gift was welcomed by the department, because they did not have a fire engine prior to this donation.

Tony Clay, NZVFD Fire Chief, said he is grateful for the truck, and would like to thank all those involved in the process.

"The Retreat VFD was generous, but Devin and John Kindon were instrumental in bringing the truck to North Zulch," he said.

The Fire engine will be on display this week, for the whole community to come by and see new truck.
