Madison County officials have confirmed a second confirmed case of COVID-19, the second being a 20-29 year-old man in the 77864 zip code.

The first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in Madison County was announced Thursday.  Madison County was one of the last remaning counties in Southeast Texas without any confirmed cases.  Neighborhing Houston County is still free of confirmed cases.

County official stress that citizens should remain compliant on isolation measures to slow the spread of the virus.

"Please continue to be vigilant in practicing social distancing and following safe hygiene practices. Stay home if you are sick, and if it is not necessary for you to provide or receive essential services. Please continue to do your part to keep our communities safe and remember that we are all in this together, though apart," the county's Emergency Management department said in it's alert Wednesday.
