Local Christian leaders celebrated Good Friday with a public stations of the cross that took place in the square around the courthouse.
“Christians, by in large, need to walk with Christ,” said Pastor Mark Kusmirek of St. Elizabeth’s, who had the idea for this event. “The square seemed like a great central location since it’s in the middle of town and isn’t associated with any one church.”
Kusmirek was joined by Pastor Patricia Ann Wehn-Glowski of First United Methodist and Pastor Cindy Clark of the Episcopal Church. The crowd was much larger than all seemed to anticipate.
“I would’ve been happy if just two people showed up,” said Kusmirek. “It seemed like we had multiple members out here from different churches. That was a great joy.”
