Summer time activities growing

Boys basketball camp will be from June 25 through June 27. This year the camp will be broken up into two sessions. Entering Kindergarten through entering fifth grade will be from 9 a.m.-noon in the Iola elementary gym. The cost will be $50. For boys entering sixth grade through entering ninth grade, they will attend June 25 through June 27 from 1-5 p.m. This camp will take place at the Iola high School gym and the cost will be $60.

Girls basketball camp will be from June 19-21. this camp will cost $60. They will also have two separate groups for this camp. Incoming kindergarten through sixth grade will be from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and incoming seventh graders through 12th grade will be from 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Campers will receive a shirt at the conclusion of camp.

•The Summer Feeding Program will be held at Navasota Junior High at no cost. Dates available are from June 11-June 28 and July 9-July 19. Breakfast will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Lunch will be from 11 a.m.-noon. For more information contact the Navasota Child Nutrition Department at (936) 825-4249.

•Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church will be hosting a Vacation Bible School from June 24 through June 26 from 6-8:30 p.m.

•Iola ISD has named Scott Martindale as lone finalist for the superintendent position.
