Teddy Gene Holifield, 66, of Jewett, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, in Temple. Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., Jan. 7, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. Bro. Johnnie Valdez will officiate.
Teddy, who lived for many years in Normangee, was born on April 12, 1951, in Levelland, and his parents were Jim and Jean Metcalf. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine in the Vietnam War, serving his country for four years and earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Meritorious Unit Citation.
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his children, Lisa Blackwell, Tonya Basque, Sheila Cash, Sean Holifield, Stacia Holifield and Samantha Anderson; his many grandchildren; his siblings, Bobbie, Wanda, Linda, Johnnie, and Cecil; and his best friend, Betty.
He would like to say, “I was loved and rich coming in. I will leave more loved and with more wealth than I ever expected or deserved. Believe in the Lord, do your best to live by what His teachings try to tell us. I leave you with my love. I will miss you all until the Lord brings you to His house. I will be there to greet you.
