Three re-elected in Midway election


MIDWAY — The incumbent city leaders in Midway were re-elected on Saturday during the Midway city election.

Mayor Tony Leago, who ran unopposed, was re-elected as mayor with 25 votes.

Out of the four people running for two positions on the council, Steve Parrish was re-elected as alderman with 19 votes, and Jimmy Cook has been re-elected as alderman with nin votes.

Matthew Faw and John Whitmire tied for the alderman positions with six votes each.

City Clerk Debra Newkirk said there were two council positions open, and aldermen are chosen based on the top two vote-getters in an at-large election.
